TWD: Chunky Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Chocolate Chipsters

Phew! What a long name for such a jam-packed little cookie! These things have everything in them - chocolate, peanut butter, oatmeal, butter, sugar, eggs... Definitely an after-school snack type of cookie. I can just imagine these with a tall glass of milk. I wonder if Stefany was thinking the same thing when she picked them for TWD this week.

In fact, all I can do is imagine them. You see, I halved the recipe and brought them in to work, thinking I'd grab one later on in the morning (I tend to put things out right when I get in at 7). But by the time I wandered back to where we place our treats, they were all gone! That's right, all that was left was the container I brought them in. That, and an email from a coworker with a subject line of "Evil Cookie Maker." That's right, I get scolded for bringing cookies in to work! I'm blaming this on you, Stefany.

The only odd comment I got on these was that the peanut butter wasn't very prominent. I think the next time, I'd lower the amount of butter and up the peanut butter content, maybe make it a crunchy PB. This is definitely a cookie that combines all the wonderful things of three different cookies into one. Always a good thing, because it means I don't have to eat three cookies now - just one! Not that that would keep me from eating three of these...

Last Week: Chocolate Banded Ice Cream Torte
Next Week: Chocolate Malted Whopper Drops (be still my heart)

Oh, don't worry. Evil cookie makers are the cool cookie makers. That's what I hear anyway. I wouldn't know. Nope. Nice cookies. :)

FYI - when I bring cookies to work, I ALWAYS steal a couple to put at my desk or I never would get one! :)

I was amazed how quickly these got eaten, too. I ate a broken one early on, or I might not have gotten any of my first batch, either.

Well, this wouldn't be me, since I always eat one on the way out of the oven! But they tasted much better once cooled (and I know that from personal experience also). "Work" is a great place for extra baked goods!

No chance to try them at my co workers, I have children... And Tommi is right: Cool cookie makers rock!

i used extra crunchy peanut butter and still couldn't taste the PB, so maybe your idea about decreasing the butter and increasing the PB will help. just don't count on crunchy to do it.

No wonder they all disappeared so quickly, they look fabulous! You must make them again, now! And keep them all for yourself, these are so worth it! And try adding chopped peanuts, that's what I did and it helped with the peanut taste. :)

I was reading that on the Q&A that the peanut butter flavor was light, so I put creamy in it, and added peanuts.

The empty container sure was proof that your cookies were absolutely delicious. Good idea about using less butter and more peanut butter.

I think I need to adopt an office to deliver cookies to. My husband and I ate the entire batch. At least we paced ourselves over the week.

So you don't steal one when they are warm out of the oven? I am impressed.

"Evil Cookie Maker" would work well printed on a t-shirt! Sorry you didn't get to try one of your cookies! They look great! I find that once people know that food is in the breakroom, they leave skidmarks on the way there.

You are evil. And how did you not eat one? Not even one at home? That just means you need to make more.

They look so good, no wonder they disappeared fast! Mine didn't last very long either.

I added salted peanuts to mine which helped with the nuttiness. Great looking cookies though!

I have my whoppers ready to go in the batter. I am looking forward to it!

Your cookies look wonderful! I'm sure your coworkers really love your for bringing in treats all the time! That would be interesting to see how it works upping the peanut butter and decreasing the butter. I think the extra peanut butter flavor would be delicious!

evil cookie maker? :) ha!

funny, i thought the PB flavor was super strong. i think it depends on the PB you use. they were definitely good w/milk!
