TWD: Chocolate Souffle

There's nothing like the let-down at the end of a wonderful vacation - after all the relaxation and fun, things just jolt to a halt. And all of a sudden, you're dropped like a rock back into the real world. Screeeeeccchhhh! And you're done. No more ice cream or cupcakes (and more cupcakes) for lunch. No more massive bowls of noodles, fantastic pizzas, or amazing brunches. Don't forget the chocolate, the pancakes at the neighborhood cafe, and the hole-in-the wall mexican. *sigh*

Well, maybe not nothing. These chocolate souffles? They're even shorter on the relaxation and fun than my latest vacation to Seattle. Thirty seconds, a minute - that's all you have to admire them before they begin to fall. And let me tell you - 5 minutes and they're pretty much gone.

*sigh*

Last Week: Cheesecake Brownies
Next Week: Flaky Apple Turnovers

Seems like everyone's welcoming fall with a chocolate dish of some sort. I baked brownies on Sunday and April (http://www.girlgonegourmet.com/) baked choc chip cookies. There really isn't anything more comforting I say :)

Yep, that was pretty much the time frame around here with the souffles also...guys had them eaten in no time flat and wanted MORE. Yours look lovely. Fun time in Seattle!

theo chocolate is wonderful...i hope you got to visit the factory/tasting room itself-- so fun! i like trophy cupcakes...will have to get my mum to shuttle me to royale next time i'm out there. delancy, too...that would be awesome. glad you had a great time. oh yeah, the souffles--they look great, even if the greatness was short-lived.

The short-lived pleasures keep you from taking them for granted, right? Your minis are adorable and I'm really glad you had such a great time on your Seattle vacation. BTW, thanks for the baking tips; I used your time estimate when I made mine.

I'm so jealous of your trip to Seattle - it's been on my list of places to visit for a while but I haven't made it there yet! I hope you had a fantastic time! Your souffles look yummy. I loved this recipe. I made two minis and ate them both myself :)

So... I'm here and l'm lookin around and I'm wonderin where's the post about the Seattle trip, huh? Okay, here is me.................waiting........................dum de dum de dum. Don't keep us in suspense. he eh

Okay, about souffle's. They were pretty good for what reminded me of a flourless choc cake. A nice launch into the souffle making quandry. Don't you think?
They still taste good even when they''ve fallen. Great job especially for a traveler just returning home.

I am glad you had a great visit to Seattle. That pizza was good as was the free grazing at Theo Chocolate. Your soufflés look lovely in their little chocolate pots. Did you make it to Oaxaca de la Carte?

Julia @Mélanger said...

But did they taste good? That's all that matters really? Think your souffle looks great. I'd be happy to tuck into one - or two!

The rise and fall of the souffle. I think I could eat that in less than 5 minutes. And do tell us about your Seattle trip.

Souffles look just fine to me. Great job.

All the links just show us what an amazing vacation you've had! Lucky you =)

The souffle looks great, and doesn't that happen with all souffles? The falling part? I have a great way to combat it though, eat it up before it can even begin to fall :P
